French artist of the 20th century. Studied at the School of Decorative Arts in Paris, where he later worked as a teacher. Designed the sports pavilion for the 1937 World's Fair in Paris. Created mainly landscapes and cityscapes, occasionally also sporting events such as the fight of the world boxing championship in 1930. In the portrait format Max Schmeling and Jack Sharkey compete against each other in the ring. The focus is on the two men, the spectator area is almost completely excluded, individual light and shadow elements and the pig spotlight put the fight in perspective.
