Regular Technical Passport with evidence of races and the car's history is available.
The car was modified from a street-legal Italian vehicle for the Barchetta Trophy in Magione in 2004 and began racing in 2005 with Team Cesarini. At that time, the car was in red and green colors with driver Wilson Cesarini, and it completed three races that were duly recorded in the Technical Passport. From 2006, it raced with Team Mariotti, with driver M. Mariotti, and completed 18 races between 2006 and 2007 with a gray livery. Starting from 2008, it continued with Team Mariotti, but with driver F. Senesi, participating in 10 races. From 2009 to 2010, it remained with Team Mariotti, but with driver Giretti Arduino, and competed in 15 races. In 2011, it participated in a race with driver Zunchen, still with Team Mariotti. Also in 2011, it competed in two races with driver Alunno Ricci, Team Mariotti. From 2012 to 2013, it raced five times with driver Biscotti Daniele, always with Team Mariotti, and in 2020, it raced with Giuseppe Morabito, Team Mora Racing.
The racetracks it has been to include Racalmuto in Agrigento, Magione, Imola, Vallelunga, Mores in Sardinia, and Adria.
The last service was carried out in 2020 before the race, and it has been idle since then.
Initially, only 18 Fiat Barchetta cars were produced worldwide. Fourteen were built for racing in the Barchetta Trophy, and an additional four were later built for hill climb races or to participate in special events. Building a Fiat Barchetta requires cutting the original car, and it requires the unique roll bar designed by Sergio Limone, the engineer who designed the Lancia Rally 037. This car will also be mentioned in Sergio Limone's upcoming autobiography. It is speculated that there may be remaining roll bars at the Magione racetrack, although there is no confirmed information at present. The most important aspect of the proposed car is the presence of a Technical Passport linked to the chassis, which testifies to its history and cannot be replicated.
The other existing cars in the world have raced in Spain, and one in Italy had the Gulf livery but with a closed hardtop, not open like this one.
VEHICLE CERTIFICATIONBody and General Vehicle Conditions
The body of the vehicle has been well maintained since 2012 and shows no dents but some signs that attest to its originality. The colors represent the livery of Team Mariotti. No glass or windshield is present. The interior is in fairly good condition, with only one racing seat. The seat belts, seat, and fire extinguisher have expired certifications and would need to be re-certified.The tires are Yokohama brand with tread pattern, size 195/55/15, and need to be replaced. The vehicle is equipped with OZ superlight alloy wheels.Technical Assessment of the Engine
The engine underwent a service in 2020, including an oil change, filter replacement, new phase sensor, new fluids, and a new timing belt. The engine is a powerful 1800 cc engine sourced from the Fiat Punto H GT, known for its robustness. The cooling system components, including the radiator, water pump, and thermostat, are in decent condition without any leaks from the radiator. The injection pump, fuel pump, and injectors are in good condition, with the fuel pump being replaced in 2020.The fuel system runs on 100-octane gasoline. The exhaust system is the original one provided by the Trofeo Kit for Trofeo races in 2004. It is made of steel and iron and shows no burn marks near the exhaust pipe. The vehicle is equipped with an electric fuel pump and electronic fuel injection. No turbocharger is present. The vehicle has a 5-speed manual transmission, an original Fiat gearbox with limited-slip differential. The transmission oil has been recently changed. There is no driveshaft. The vehicle has a limited-slip differential in the rear, which is in decent condition. The clutch is in good condition but used, featuring a single disc. There is no 4x4 reduction gear. The joints and half-shafts are in good condition without any noise, rust, or oil leaks. The flywheel is in decent condition, considering its used status. The wheel bearings are in good condition. The braking system consists of a pump with 4 discs and calipers, currently equipped with hard racing pads. The system is in good condition. No ABS system is present. The brake pads and discs have approximately 80% functionality remaining. The vehicle has a mechanical steering box with reliable power steering. The suspension system includes original Trofeo racing shock absorbers, adjustable in extension and hardness with the Ozono containers. These are part of the original Trofeo Kit.The general electrical system is in good condition, with the necessary components in place. The dashboard instruments, including the tachometer, are in good condition without any fogging. The direction indicators are not present. The lighting system is absent, but the Trofeo Kit fiberglass components replace the headlights. The front suspension features Ozono containers to optimize and limit space. The alternator is in good condition. The starter motor is functional. The engine control unit has been remapped, and it should be noted that the vehicle needs to reach operating temperature to maintain idle without issues. This indicates that the original ECU has been remapped to achieve some additional horsepower.(Keep in mind that before Trofeo races, there were rigorous checks on the vehicles and ECUs, which were removed and randomly inspected.)There is no heating system installed. The windshield wipers are not present. There are no power windows. The battery is new as of 2023 with a capacity of 60 Ah.
Documentation of races, photos, and technical passport are available.
No spare parts are included.
Logistical costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
There are only 18 Fiat Barchetta Trofeo, only 14 have certain provenance and clean stora, in the world. The Technical Passport is truthful document of its provenance, along with the Roll-Bar approval. Transportation paid for by the purchasing customer
