This plastic group of four figures offers a representation of the Allegory of Charity, the main of the theological virtues. The iconographic solution corresponds to the most widespread type of charity in sixteenth and eighteenth-century painting.
The subject is a young and beautiful female figure sitting in a wooded landscape, surrounded by children, one of whom with his head near her breast. Great expressive intensity and emotion, but also balance and tenderness come together in this pictorially perfect scene with a pyramidal structure composition.
Oil on canvas, 53,5 x 41 cm
