The work is a collaboration between Clara Holt for the decoration and Unurgent Argilla for the making of the vase. Clara, an Italian artist based in Milan, uses the sgraffito technique for vase decoration. After applying a layer of coloured slip to the pottery she scrapes off parts of the layer to create images, patterns and textures often taken from classical literature, contrasting with the colour of the underlying clay.
